Techo Bloc Villagio Pavers: Sizes, Colors, Price, Patterns and Driveway Use

Last Updated on September 27, 2026 by Umar Farooq

Techo Bloc Villagio is a cobblestone-style concrete paver, 2 3/8 inches (60 mm) thick, sold as one module of four sizes. All four are 5 1/8 inches wide, and they come in 5 1/8, 6 5/16, 7 5/16 and 8 7/16 inch lengths. It has a beveled, tumbled-looking texture, comes in seven colors, and a pallet covers 117 square feet. The joints are unusually wide, 3/8 to 9/16 inch, so it can be laid as a permeable paver. Techo-Bloc sells it for patios, walkways and driveways. On its Eastern Pennsylvania suggested retail list it runs $6.63 per square foot, or $7.82 in Onyx Black and Chocolate Brown.

Techo-Bloc's product pages block automated readers, so I worked from its PDFs instead: the Villagio spec sheet, the paver and permeable installation guides, and a distributor's copy of the price list. For the rest of the brand, see our Techo-Bloc pavers overview.

Villagio sizes and pallet contents

Drawing to scale of the four Techo-Bloc Villagio paver units, all 5 1/8 inches wide, in lengths of 5 1/8, 6 5/16, 7 5/16 and 8 7/16 inches

From the Villagio spec sheet:

UnitSize (in)Size (mm)Units per pallet
A5 1/8 x 5 1/8 x 2 3/8130 x 130 x 6077
B6 5/16 x 5 1/8 x 2 3/8160 x 130 x 6077
C7 5/16 x 5 1/8 x 2 3/8185 x 130 x 60154
D8 7/16 x 5 1/8 x 2 3/8215 x 130 x 60154

A pallet holds 117 sq ft in 11 rows of 10.64 sq ft (24.94 linear feet per row, for banding). The spec sheet says about 2,960 lb and the price list 3,029 lb, so call it a ton and a half. The four sizes come in a fixed 1 : 1 : 2 : 2 ratio, and the patterns depend on it.

Colors and what Villagio costs

Villagio has one texture (beveled) in seven colors: Sandlewood, Shale Grey, Champlain Grey, Chestnut Brown, Merlot, Onyx Black and Chocolate Brown.

On the Techo-Bloc suggested retail price list for Eastern Pennsylvania:

  • $6.63 per sq ft for Sandlewood, Shale Grey, Champlain Grey, Chestnut Brown and Merlot, about $776 a pallet
  • $7.82 per sq ft for Onyx Black and Chocolate Brown, about $915 a pallet

The list calls these prices "for market reference only," and dealers vary: Whiz-Q Stone in Fort Worth posts Shale Grey at $11.05 per square foot. Our Techo-Bloc pricing guide tracks the same spread across the brand's other lines.

Laying patterns and curves

The spec sheet shows four patterns: one linear and three herringbones, "for design inspiration only," so the quantities are on the installer.

Villagio's party trick is curves. The spec sheet says it "allows for gentle curves and winding pathways, eliminating the need for cuts." The narrow units and wide joints let each row fan slightly, like real cobbles. A tight radius still needs cuts; a sweeping front walk often doesn't.

Techo-Bloc's installation guide says to draw from more than two pallets at once, because one pallet that ran light becomes a very straight stripe in a very rustic paver. Our cobblestone pavers guide compares the cobble look across brands.

Is Villagio rated for driveways?

Yes. The spec sheet carries Techo-Bloc's vehicular icon, and the geometry agrees. The longest unit, D, is 8 7/16 inches long and 2 3/8 thick, an aspect ratio of about 3.6, inside the 3:1 to 4:1 range CMHA's Tech Spec 10 accepts for residential driveways. The residential Villagio is 60 mm only; Techo-Bloc also lists a Villagio Commercial product, which I found no spec sheet for.

The base does the heavy lifting. Techo-Bloc's installation guide calls for these minimum foundation depths:

UseClay or silty soilSandy or gravelly soil
Driveway8 to 14 in6 to 10 in
Patio or walkway6 to 8 in4 to 6 in

It calls for 0-3/4 in crushed stone in 4-inch lifts under at least a 5,000 lbf plate, and a urethane mat under the plate once the pavers are down, since Techo-Bloc won't cover compaction scuffs. Its permeable guide adds that patterns laid perpendicular to traffic are stronger, a point for the herringbones.

Joint fill: budget for the wide gaps

My view on Techo Bloc Villagio: budget for the joints as seriously as for the pavers. At 3/8 to 9/16 inch, they're at least twice as wide as the 1/16 to 3/16 inch joint on most concrete pavers. Techo-Bloc's own chart puts one 50 lb bag of Flexlock polymeric sand at about 18.5 sq ft of Villagio, so a 117 sq ft pallet needs roughly six and a half bags.

The wide joints are also why Villagio can be permeable. The spec sheet lists 8% open surface and an initial infiltration rate of 896 inches per hour. For a permeable build, Techo-Bloc's guide swaps sand for clean stone:

  • ASTM No. 8 aggregate in the joints, about 2.1 lb per sq ft
  • A 2-inch No. 8 bedding layer over a No. 57 base
  • A surface slope of at least 1%

For foot traffic, the guide says the subbase may be skipped in favor of at least 6 inches of No. 57 stone. Driveways need an engineered section.

Where people go wrong is watering polymeric sand in joints this wide like a narrow joint, which washes the fines out. Fill to full depth and mist lightly.

Choose Villagio for curves, then budget the joints

Villagio suits a front walk that curves, a cobble-look patio, or a residential driveway on a proper base, and its four-unit module does much of the curve work for you. What you pay for is the joint. Plan on six or seven bags of polymeric sand per pallet, or go permeable and fill it with stone. Either way, the joints are part of the look you chose.
